Today, the nation stopped to remember those who perished in the earthquake last week in Christchurch.
We stopped also for those left to pick up the pieces.
I hope they will one day find peace and contentment again.
At least in this lifetime.
The first funeral also happened today of beautiful baby Baxtor, and for the first time since this earthquake, I was thrust unexpectedly into the extreme and helpless feeling of loss.
Maybe because it is a baby, and i am relating to this loss as a parent.
I don't know, but it finally brought this tragedy home in a very sad way.
Again, something tragic had to give for me (and many) to stop, pause and truly reflect on what is important in life.
And its not money, clothes, a holiday or getting lots of sleep (:
It's about being there for your loved ones and being good to people.
Simple as that.
